Faith Friday – Secure in the Arms of Christ

Welcome to my latest Faith Friday post. Today I want to talk about security.

In order for Faith to flourish we need Trust, Peace and Security.

For some people these things come easily.

Not for me!

As a writer, I have a huge imagination. This is a blessing and a curse. Give me five minutes and I can turn the most minor thing into a dangerous event.

FEAR has always been my enemy.

FEAR tends to smoother FAITH, TRUST, PEACE AND SECURITY.

Once again, I’m turning to the book Grace Works by Tony Sutherland.

Secure in the arms of Christ - Sharon Rene - Faith

Grace provides security and security produces faith.

“Whereby ye are sealed until the day of redemption.” Ephesians 4:30 (KJV)

Once we give our hearts to Christ, we are sealed by the Holy Spirit, and nothing can ever separate us from God.

Whew, now that provides SECURITY.

I am sealed in God forever.

Last week I was opening a lid on a jar.  The seal was super tight. It made me think about this verse.

Of course, I was finally able to break that seal, but nothing can remove the Holy Spirit from our lives.

NOTHING!

Tony Sutherland writes that once we believe in Jesus for our salvation it is as if God stamps his insignia on our souls and seals us in an envelope.

We are secure even when we fail and don’t keep up our end of the bargain.

If we could live perfect lives Jesus would not be necessary.

God knew humans could never be perfect, so He sent Jesus to be perfect for us and take our place on the cross.

This is a forever thing – a done deal.

Sharon Rene - Security

If my salvation depended on me, I’d be in a big mess.

You would too.

Romans 8:37-39 is one of my favorite passages in the Bible.

“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.  For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

This passage says it all.

Please comment below and let me know what security means to you.

Knowing that God will always be here for me no matter what life deals me. I talk to God daily and sometimes when I am stressed with worry I get such a calmness go over me. I know that that is God answering me that everything will be alright.

That is so true. It is the only way I make it.
